National herd size can grow by births and by importations. The advantage of growing by births is that demand and supply for animals can grow relatively equally, with the result that herd values are maintained.

Ours is a domestic herd; that is, one predominantly built by births in Canada. This means that our prices for breeding animals reflect a long term stability in value, instead of reflecting the volatile values associated with fads or importations. We prefer to sell domestic llamas and alpacas that, along with their offspring, will sustain their value.
